The South Florida Hunger Coalition was founded by The Coordinating Council of Broward County in 2001. This ambitious countywide effort is driven by a strategic plan designed to fill and maintain the food pantries throughout the county. By 2004, the Children's Services Council of Broward County began to fund committee staff and activities, and today South Florida Hunger Coalition coordinates the efforts of more than 75 agencies in Broward County and is supported by dozens of community partners

To create an efficient food collection process and an effective food distribution system to ensure that no Broward County resident goes hungry.
